My Mother in Law was on an episode of Millionaire Hot Seat with Eddie McGuire in October which was very exciting, even though she didn’t win anything I took up the opportunity to make her a tunic to wear on the TV.I don’t mean to toot my own horn but I was super excited that some fabric I sell was going to be on the television in a garment that I had hand made for my mother in law!!
It was in April when I started making yoyos, it was relaxing and thought I would definitely be able to make enough by the time the Deni Ute Muster rolled around. I think I had made around 800 yoyos before I got the ute measurements in August and realized I needed well over 2000.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to pattern test Sew Pony Vintage’s new girls dress – the Tic Tac Toe Dress.
It comes with heaps of options too!! Piping, pockets, bodice lining, 4 different sleeve options, a half peter pan collar, full peter pan collar, back tie...there are just so many combinations, it’s just fantastic!
I decided to sew up the dress with the half collar, back tie and rectangular sleeves in size 3.
I had put making this dress off for about a month knowing damn well that all I had to do is dive in and everything would be alright. I hadn’t done button holes or a placket for over 5 years, so procrastination was winning with a fear of stuffing it up on this awesome denim. I knew I would be stealing a bit of this fabric when I ordered it for the shop because I loved it so much!
When I was asked to join this blog tour I was more than willing to test out some of the Sofilantjes patterns, I was unfamiliar with Sofilantjes patterns but once I headed over to their website and saw the options I was more than impressed.
